...this isn't really something any normal member of any nationality or ethnicity does. Small pockets of civilization in certain areas aside, as the motives change and the issue becomes muddled.

It's okay, really. You don't need to apologize for anything. Psychology didn't even become its own field until the late 17th century. It's something from another time entirely.
